This is a lovely Antique Mappin & Webb Butter Knife, perfect for using to serve butter at breakfast or dinner. It dates from the early 1900s.
The butter knife was made by well known Silversmiths Mappin & Webb. It was made of Prince’s Plate and has this stamped on the back of the handle along with the date letter o.
The blade is beautifully shaped and the handle has a pretty rat tail design. The silver plate is intact with light scratches.
