This is a beautiful antique solid silver folding fruit knife from the 1910s. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for a birthday or anniversary.
It has a lovely shiny Sterling Silver blade and a pretty Mother of Pearl handle. It has a blank oval cartouche on one side of the handle and an ornate design to the collar.
The blade has the hallmarks and maker’s mark on one side. It was made by Charles William Fletcher and Son and it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1919.
It’s in good condition. The pearl handle is smooth with no cracks or chips. The silver blade is shiny with some scratches, a couple of tiny indentations to the cutting edge and a very slight bend to the tip.
It’s a good size, measuring 11.8cm (4 5/8 inches) when the blade is fully open and 7.1cm (2 3/4 inches) when the blade is folded into the handle.
