This is a lovely 1950s piggy bank called the Magic Pocket Savings Bank. This vintage coin holder was used to save sixpence (6d) coins in pre Decimal currency.

It comes in gift bag and would be a lovely collector’s item.

The Magic Pocket Savings Bank is made of brass and has a silver tone coating that has mainly worn off.  The base has Six Pence on it and Sixpence Only on the side. It has a series of holes on the other side and marks so the saver can see how many coins they’ve managed to collect. There’s a slot on the other side to put sixpences in and the lid twists off to empty the bank of coins.

Condition

It’s in good working condition. It has a lot of wear to the sides where the coating has come off to show the brass but all the lettering on the sides are easy to read.

Size

It measures 4.5cm in height (1 3/4 inches) and has a width of 2.2cm (3/4 inch).
