This is a lovely Vintage Art Deco Princess Powder Compact, made in Japan in the 1930s. It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a great gift.
The lid has a detailed enamel of a sailing boat on the sea with a light yellow border to two sides. The base is silver tone metal.
The compact opens to show an area for powder and the original used powder screen. The mirror is missing and a metal sheet is in it's place. Even though it's not actually a mirror it does give a good reflection.
There are quite a few chips to the enamel and scratches to the base. There is also a small amount of deterioration to the metal next to the mirror.
It is a very unique compact with a Art Deco style. It would make a great gift to someone.
