Vintage 1929 Sterling Silver Box, Mid Sized Box, Jewellery or Trinket Box
This is a lovely Vintage Sterling Silver Box from the 1920s. It would be perfect for storing small items in such as jewellery or cuff links.
It was made by Frederick William Hentsch and it was Hallmarked in London 1929. The Hallmarks are on one side of the box on both the lid and the base.
The box has shiny Sterling Silver sides. The lid has an engineered pattern with a large blank rectangular cartouche in the centre.
The hinge works well. The interior is fully lined with Cedar Wood.
The box is shiny with a bit of tarnish, particularly in the pattern on the lid. There are some small dints on the side and lid. There is a split in the Silver at the back on one corner. The lid stays shut but doesn’t sit completely flush with the base.
It weighs 300.7g.
It’s a mid sized box. It measures 14.4cm by 8.8cm (5 5/8 inches by just over 3 3/8 inches). The depth is 3.1cm (1 1/4 inches).
