This is a lovely Vintage Solid Silver Matchbook Case from the late 1920s. It has an enamel badge on the front of the Prudence Masons Lodge.

It comes in a gift bag and would be a fantastic present for someone who enjoys or collects Masonic memorabilia.

It was made by William Walter Cashmore and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1929. The maker’s mark and Hallmarks are on the inside of the case.

The case is made of Sterling Silver and features an enamel badge of the Prudence Lodge 3659 which was a Masons Lodge in Birmingham, England in the 1920s and 30s. It also has 1930 J H Parsons WM underneath the badge for the Worshipful Master.

The hinge and clasp work well. The Silver is shiny with tarnish inside. The back of the case has quite a few dents to it and it has a number of dints to the sides which can be seen in the photos. There’s also a dint to the front of the case between the badge and the hinge.

It’s a lovely collector’s item and would be a very special gift.

It weighs 28.9g and measures 5.8cm by 4.5cm with a depth of 0.7cm (2 1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches with a depth of 1/4 inches).
