Antique Silver Plated Sweets Bowl, Antique Bon Bon Dish
This is a lovely Antique Silver Plated Bon Bon Dish from the 1800s or early 1900s. It would be perfect for using as a bowl for sweets or other small items.
It was made by Thomas Wilkinson and Sons and it has their maker’s mark and Pelican Ware mark on the base. Thomas Wilkinson was active as a Silver Plate Manufacturer from 1832 to 1932. It also has 8693 imprinted and 1773 is scratched on the base.
The bowl is Silver Plated. It has a lovely crimped, wavy pattern around the edge.
The Silver Plate is shiny with spots of tarnish and deterioration on the inside which adds to the antique look. There is a little wear to the Silver Plate on the base at the very edge.
It has a maximum diameter at the top of 12cm (4 3/4 inches). The diameter at the base is 6.8cm (2 5/8 inches. The depth is 5cm (2 inches).
