Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs, Silver Sugar Nips
This is a lovely pair of Antique Silver Sugar Tongs or Nips. They would be perfect for using to serve sugar lumps or canapés.
They come in a gift bag and would be a lovely present.
They have the makers mark of I.H for John Harris IV along with very worn Hallmarks. They were made between 1828 and 1830.
The tongs are shiny Silver with shell shaped ends for picking up sugar. Although the ends don't sit completely flush with each other they still work very well.
They have a bit of tarnish which adds to the antique look. There has been a repair to one arm of the tongs which can be seen in the photos.
They measure 11.5cm in length (4 1/2 inches).
