Antique Edwardian Silver Lidded Jewellery Box
This is a lovely Antique Edwardian Jewellery Box from the early 1900s. It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present.
It was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1905 and the maker’s mark is JT.
The box is made of wood and has a Sterling Silver lid. The Silver has a Repousse pattern with the maker’s mark and Hallmarks hidden in the design. The hinge works well and the lid lifts up to show a green material interior.
The Silver is shiny with tarnish which helps to show the pattern. The Repousse pattern has some wear with a number of small holes to the Silver and a very small piece removed at the front. These can be seen if you look closely at the Silver.
The wood has a number of marks and there a a couple of spots of dried paint on the material on the inside of the box.
The box measures 10.8cm in length in the middle by 9.8cm (4 1/4 inches by 3 7/8 inches). The depth is 4.5cm (1 3/4 inches).
