This is a pretty Antique Butter Knife from 1920. It has a Sterling Silver blade and would be a very elegant way to serve butter.

It was made by Charles William Fletcher and it was Hallmarked at the Sheffield Assay Office in 1920.

The Sterling Silver blade is rounded and has a pretty pattern at the top of the blade. The Hallmarks are on one side of the blade and on the Silver Collar. The handle is beautifully smooth Mother of Pearl.

The Silver is shiny. There are a number of ridges on the cutting side of the blade and a little tarnish. The blade is at a slight angle to the handle and it’s slightly curved.

The Pearl handle isn’t completely flush with the collar and it's at a slight angle compared to the blade. There is a very slight movement if you try to twist the handle however it is secure and the knife can still be used. This has been taken into account when pricing.

It measures 17.2cm in length (6 3/4 inches).
