Antique 1903 Sterling Silver Small Box, Repousse Silver Cherub Trinket Box
This is a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Box from the early 1900s. It would be perfect for storing small items in such as jewellery. It comes in a lovely presentation bag and would be a great gift.
It was made by Synyer & Beddoes and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1903. The Hallmarks are worn on the side of the box next to the Maker’s Mark, but are clearly visible on the rim of the lid.
The box has shiny Sterling Silver sides and base. The Maker’s Mark is at the back of the box below the hinge. The lid has a beautiful Repousse design featuring two cherubs.
The hinge works well the inside of lid has been Gilded. The interior has quite a few marks to it.
The box has some tarnish in places, particularly around the rim. It’s in overall good condition.
It weighs 58.6g. It measures 10.8cm by 4.4cm (just over 4 1/8 inches by 1 3/4 inches). The maximum depth is 2.8cm (1 1/8 inches).
